Nature is Green
Solo exhibition at DRIFT - prøverum for kunst in Silkeborg, DK.
In our linguistic understanding of the world we reduce the meaning of everything out of sheer necessity, just like in the expression “Nature is green”.
This is also reflected in the work titles that are comments on art works posted by Instagram users. A title such as “I totally get it! Amazing work.” is an example of a use of language that greatly reduces complexity.
Luckily we have art which can do the opposite! In art we can combine divergent elements and create a complexity that cannot be reduced to a single expression, but which opens new questions and new revelations - about ourselves, about the world, about nature.
Nature is not green.
